Studying with Cecylia Barczyk
Cecylia Barczyk has been praised around the world for musical and educational achievements. Since 1983, Ms. Barczyk has been Professor of Cello at Towson University, continuing her solo career while educating young cellists from virtually every part of the globe.
Several of her students have received top prizes in national/international music competitions (including the Kumho International Competition in Helsinki, the Young Concert Artists Auditions of New York, and the Corpus Christi Young Artists Competition). Her students have entered successful careers as soloists, orchestra members, and teachers.
Ms. Barczyk is a frequent adjudicator of international music competitions, and a regular faculty member of advanced summer music courses in the USA and Europe.
In 2003 she was appointed Artistic Director of the International Music Institute and Festival USA.

The International Cello Festival
The annual International Cello Festival is an additional asset for the cello program and brings world-renowned cellists from around the world to Towson for concerts and master classes. Among visiting faculty of the International Cello Festival have been:

The Towson University/Maryland Cello Ensemble
The Towson University Cello Ensemble was founded in 1986 by Professor Cecylia Barczyk for Towson University cello students and graduates, as well as other outstanding cellists from Maryland and neighboring states. Highlights of the Ensemble's performances include concerts at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the World Cello Congress III.
Towson University
